Resin Bound Driveways across South London and Kent
Resin bound gravel gives you the look of loose stone with none of the mess. The aggregate is mixed with a clear resin and trowelled out over a solid base, so it stays exactly where it is laid and sweeps clean.
Because a resin bound surface is permeable, rainwater soaks through it rather than running off into the road. That matters in London, where a new impermeable front garden surface can need planning permission and an approved drainage plan.

Resin Bound Driveways, answered
Does resin bound need a solid base?
Yes. Resin bound gravel is a surface layer, not a structure. It needs a sound tarmac or concrete base underneath. If your existing base is not up to it we will lay a new one first.
Will weeds grow through it?
A correctly laid resin bound surface is sealed, so weeds cannot root up through it. Occasionally seeds land on top and take hold in surface debris, which is why an occasional sweep helps.
Is resin bound slippery when wet?
No. The exposed aggregate gives the surface texture and grip. We can also add anti slip aggregate for sloped drives.
